Exco Announcement

Dear Members,

The recent developments in the Covid-19 situation has not subside even though situation in China seems to be improving, instead we are seeing more outbreaks reported daily globally. Countries are taking precautionary measures on travel and trying to contain the pandemic.    In Singapore, our government has also issued advisory to avoid public events and delay travel if it's not essential.

As much as our Exco is keen to continue with our monthly events, the current situation warrant our attention and we do not want to take this risk lightly.    We have thus decided to cancel our Meet-Ups for the next 3 months and will resume in June 2020 if situation permits.  We believe learning can continues even thought we cannot gather, you can continue to leverage the learning resources on (ISC)2 portal and the online seminars; continue to learn and clock your CPEs.  The exco is currently looking at how we can conduct virtual sharing.  We will share more as we progress.  In the meantime, stay vigilant and take care.  Together we will overcome this crisis.

Your Sincerely

Victor Yeo

President (ISC)2 Singapore Chapter

We are proud to support The Cybersecurity Awards (TCA) 2019, a very successful event that brought recognition to individuals and enterprises, whose contributions to local and regional cybersecurity ecosystem have been remarkably inspiring and truly exceptional!

Organised by the Association of Information Security Professionals (AiSP), TCA 2019 was supported by Cyber Security Agency (CSA) and a few major professional and industry associations, including (ISC)2 Singapore Chapter.

TCA 2019 gave out 12 awards from eight award categories to recognise outstanding contributions by individuals and organisations. A total of 57 nominees were shortlisted for their contributions to the cybersecurity ecosystem in Singapore and the region.

The Regional award category honoured non-profit organisations that have contributed to the region’s cybersecurity development. This includes promotion and adoption of cybersecurity best practices and knowledge, and partnership development to enhance the cybersecurity ecosystem. The countries involved for the Regional category were Australia, China, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

The Hall of Fame (Posthumous) award was added this year, which was given to Mr Tony Chew, who had made significant contributions to the industry but had passed on in 2019.

More than 300 guests from the industry, agencies and overseas information security associations attended the event. Guest of Honour Mr Heng Chee How, Senior Minister of State for Defence, graced the celebratory event and presented the awards.

Welcome to (ISC)² Singapore Chapter Website

(ISC)² Singapore Chapter is a non profit member community of (ISC)² credential holders in Singapore. We aim to advance the Singapore ecosystem of Cyber and Information System Security Professionals. We provide members with the opportunity to build a local network of peers to share knowledge, exchange resources, collaborate on projects, and create new ways to earn CPE credits.

Our chapter programmes provides members access to knowledge sharing from Government Agencies and Industry leaders.  The community is focus on helping the development of leaders and professionals in information systems security.  We strive to keep our members informed of the latest advances in technology, techniques and policies. We also promote awareness of the profession and educate the public on how to defend against security threats.

Who are we ?

Our members consist of (ISC)² credentialed professionals who hold either a SSCP, CAP, CSSLP, and/or a CISSP or advanced concentration certification. We have more than 300 members and am growing fast.  We have a wide spectrum of members; Students, Practicing Professionals in different specialisations, Senior leaders in the Cyber business and Senior Security Officers and Advisors in Gov Agencies and Industries.

How is the Chapter run?

The chapter is run by a group of dedicated Exco volunteers who meet monthly to plan and organise professional events and activities throughout the year.    Visit our Executive Committee page to see our team for this year.

What events do we organise?

We try to have a mixture of fun and learning in the events we organise.  We aim to organise an event every month of the year. Our aim is for our members to earn a substantial amount of CPEs from our activities.  We have a full year calendar of social and professional events; from Chinese New Year Lo Hei, Bowling, Movie Night, Industries Talks at SMU, Conferences, Government Engagement and Industry Visits. Visit our Events page for our calendar of upcoming events!

Why join us?

CPEs is just one of the many benefits.  The local chapter allow the community to come together to learn, network and share.  You will have friends in various specialisations to consult when you need help; information security has many domains and  we often are not an expert in everything.   Coming together as a community allow us to engage and work collective with Government Agencies and Industries Bodies on standards and polices.
