12 July 2020
We just had our election in Singapore last Friday, Covid-19 easing is on-going, businesses are trying to get back to norm and we are seeing semblance of resume activities at our Malls, Foodcourts, Restaurants and Hawker Centers. Beneath these optimism, the Covid 19 crisis continues, we are not out of the woods yet; infected numbers and community cases are still reported daily.
In the last 4 months, our exco has started #learningneverstops online webinars to reach all of you. Despite the initial rough start, our exco has gotten better at running online events and am encouraged by your participations. We saw good responses and have subscribed to Zoom as a platform to support these sharing events better. Also many among you have came forward to volunteer and to speak, we are deeply encouraged by your participation and let’s continue with these great interactions and sharing. Our Exco believes online sharing will be a permanent feature In our future spread of activities post Covid.
This online trend is also adopted by (ISC)2 Security Congress this year, the 2020 congress will be a virtual Conference. Similarly Our Exco has also decided that Secure Singapore 2020, a key capstone event together SICW/Govware 2020 will also take the virtual online route. More information will be provided as we finalised our plan. In the meantime, we are soliciting for topics, speakers and sponsorships. If you have ideas or am keen to volunteer, please reach out to us.
We’re looking forward to organise meet-up for our members when it’s permitted , please check our portal for updates. In the meantime, stay vigilant and take care, together we will overcome this crisis. Thank you all for your support.

Our chapter programmes provides members access to knowledge sharing from Government Agencies and Industry leaders. The community is focus on helping the development of leaders and professionals in information systems security. We strive to keep our members informed of the latest advances in technology, techniques and policies. We also promote awareness of the profession and educate the public on how to defend against security threats.

How is the Chapter run?
The chapter is run by a group of dedicated Exco volunteers who meet monthly to plan and organise professional events and activities throughout the year. Visit our Executive Committee page to see our team for this year.
What events do we organise?
We try to have a mixture of fun and learning in the events we organise. We aim to organise an event every month of the year. Our aim is for our members to earn a substantial amount of CPEs from our activities. We have a full year calendar of social and professional events; from Chinese New Year Lo Hei, Bowling, Movie Night, Industries Talks at SMU, Conferences, Government Engagement and Industry Visits. Visit our Events page for our calendar of upcoming events!
Why join us?
CPEs is just one of the many benefits. The local chapter allow the community to come together to learn, network and share. You will have friends in various specialisations to consult when you need help; information security has many domains and we often are not an expert in everything. Coming together as a community allow us to engage and work collective with Government Agencies and Industries Bodies on standards and polices.
