Exco Announcement - 8 July 2021
We are midway through 2021! Singapore have 2481 CISSPs highest in ASEAN, comparable to Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, Germany and India.
Chapter membership has grown above 530, this is about 20% of the certified CISSP Professionals in Singapore. Where are all the other certified (ISC)2 members? we need to get them onboard. We are only as good as a community and scale does matter if we want to do more things and have a bigger voice.
Welcome all new joiners, very please to have you onboard. All members do ask your fellow professionals to join the local Chapter if they are (ISC)2 members. We have a Roll of Honors for members with the highest referrals, and there are prizes to be won. Congratulation Paulo and Alexandra for being the top 2 referrals on the Honors Board now.
In the last 6 months, our event team have been working very hard. We conducted15 sharing seminars ourselves and a couple of joint events with our partner associations. These learning seminars gave our members about 16-17 CPEs opportunities. As we enter into the second half of this year, there will be more sharing and volunteering opportunities; Secure Singapore 2021 (a key event for us), School engagements, Course Development with AISG etc. We will provide at least another 20 CPEs opportunities of activities by year end. This is huge, never have we been so filled with activities, and all these within the Covid constraints. The energy and passion of our Exco and Sub-co teams are really commendable.
This year, we also have a number of sponsors who came onboard to help Chapter, they are listed on our Sponsorship page, their supports allow us to do more as a non-profit organisation.
Our inaugural Mentorship programme will be at their midway checkpoint on 28 July 2021. We have received very positive feedbacks from our mentors or mentees, I am glad that they have benefited. Alexandra, our Exco Iron Lady is already planning for 2022 batch.
Please continue to check out our Events Page and join our upcoming activities. Or Volunteer to speak if have deep expertise, and knowledge to share.
All these activities and initiatives are ideas and efforts driven by our Exco and Sub-Co volunteers. We are planning our coming 2021 AGM in Oct and are looking for candidates to form the 2022 Exco and Sub-Co Team. We need more volunteers to create greater capacity to engage with our increased members base, and to create more activities that will value-add to our members, do volunteer and join us. Reach out to any of our exco.
We are only as good as a community. In the meantime, stay safe and stay tune for news on our activities.

We try to have a mixture of fun and learning in the events we organise. We aim to organise an event every month of the year. Our aim is for our members to earn a substantial amount of CPEs from our activities. We have a full year calendar of social and professional events; from Chinese New Year Lo Hei, Bowling, Movie Night, Industries Talks at SMU, Conferences, Government Engagement and Industry Visits. Why join us?
CPEs is just one of the many benefits. The local chapter allow the community to come together to learn, network and share. You will have friends in various specialisations to consult when you need help; information security has many domains and we often are not an expert in everything. Coming together as a community allow us to engage and work collective with Government Agencies and Industries Bodies on standards and polices.
